Crisis:  Please call 911 if you are in a life-threatening situation and need help immediately. If you are in a crisis, feeling suicidal, or need to talk with someone right away, you can call the King County Crisis Clinic (open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). This is a free service for King County residents.

For Teens:  Teen Link is a  special, confidential, free hotline for teens, answered by other teens who have received some training in counseling. They are open 6:00-10:00 PM (Pacific Time). You can call or email:

For Parents:  Savvy Parents Safe Kids offers practical, thoughtful and non-alarmist advice on keeping kids safe from abuse.

Domestic Violence: The Domestic Abuse Women's Network (DAWN) has an Advocacy & Crisis Hotline for those in King County who are in need of support and resources around domestic violence:

The King County Protection Order Advocacy Program also offers helpful information about the process of obtaining a protection order in King County.

Sexual Assault/Abuse: For counseling following sexual assault, evaluations of suspected sexual abuse in children, or for evaluation/treatment for sexual behavior problems in children, contact the Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress Center at Harborview. For a list of resources for abuse victims, family members, teachers, and others, please visit the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center.

Community resources: The Washington State Community Resources Online / Washington Information Network is an excellent source of information about a range of resources, including mental health services, educational opportunities, legal aid and basic needs like food, housing, health insurance. You can explore the directory online or dial 2-1-1 to speak with a information and referral specialist.
